We offer a Professional Massage Therapy Program, Master Massage Program, Yoga Teacher Training, plus a variety of Continuing Education (CE) classes that meet the requirements set forth the AZ State Board of Massage Therapy for CE requirements for LMTs. So current LMTs can take CE classes with us in addition to students interested in starting a Holistic Career. The classes are also recognized by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork as approved Category A Continuing Education.

Professional Massage Practitioner

Our 750-hour Professional Massage Practitioner Program features a careful balance of modalities and a specialty in Myotherapy to prepare students to become successful practicing LMTs (Licensed Massage Therapists) in as little as eleven months. Classes are four days or four nights per week, Monday through Thursday, plus completing clinical hours Monday through Saturday at your convenience. The Program exceeds standards set by national certification, and by most state and municipal governments for licensing. The Professional Massage Practitioner Program teaches the art and science of massage therapy, while also teaching sound business practices which prepare students for success in the marketplace.

Due to the fact that you are actually training to be a health care practitioner, we include CPR and First Aid training and certification, and Anatomy & Physiology, and Pathology in our Professional Massage Therapy Program curriculum. As part of the curriculum you will complete a comprehensive Professional Development Portfolio which helps to prepare you for self-employment or for getting your first great job as a Licensed Massage Therapist.

Master Massage Practitioner

Our 1000 – hour Master Massage Practitioner Program builds off of our MT 750 Program, and features specialties in Myotherapy, Yoga Teacher Training with additional electives in Thai Foot Massage, Hypnotherapy and Toe Reading. This program is designed to give you a variety of modalities to expand the versatility of your Holistic career. Yoga along with a prosperous Massage Practice allows you to tailor stretches for specific client needs. Approaching Yoga from a Massage background deepens your understanding of the human body, thus allowing you to become a greater asset to your clients. The MT 1000 program is 11 months long with an additional 6 hours per week of Yoga Teacher training and several weekend classes. You also have the option of taking electives at our main campus in Tempe, AZ. If you are really interested in having a Holistic Career, this program offers the broadest foundation to start living your dream.

Yoga Teacher Training

Our 200- hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) features the ability to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance in addition to the certification as a Yoga Teacher you receive upon completion of the 3 module program. SWIHA welcomes the novice or experienced students and it is recommended that you have a yoga practice for a few months before starting the program. It is SWIHA’s intention to hold space for all who are passionate about Yoga and committed to what it means to be a Yoga Teacher, both on and off the mat. Our YTT program is an eclectic overview of the practice and art of Yoga and it features the philosophical aspects as well as a physical practice. In addition to the 3 primary SWIHA instructors, students have the opportunity to learn from Masters from within the Northern AZ Yoga Community in their field of expertise.
