Touch Is Central to our very Existence.
We often hear people say, “I need a massage.” And, they are right. People do need touch. Touch is truly central to our very existence.
The touch of someone's hand, the closeness of an embrace, and the connected feeling of personal contact signify caring and comforting. Feelings of security, safety, and easiness are amplified along with other good feelings evoked by the power of touch according to the research done by the Touch Research Institute* in Miami, Florida. Studies have proven that regular, positive, structured touch can improve one’s immune system. In fact, there have been many studies documenting the fact that a premature baby will not survive without touch.
At Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Flagstaff, northern Arizona's leading massage college, we believe that touch is central to everyone’s health and well being. For that reason we are dedicated to being one of the central businesses in Flagstaff that offer professional, affordable massage therapy to the public through our Clinic staffed by students and graduate massage therapists. The Clinic is open six days a weeks for appointment. Due to the limited amount of appointments available for touch therapy we encourage you to make your appointment for massage at least a week in advance. To book an appointment today, please call 928-213-0010.
We also offer a Professional Massage Therapy Program and a variety of Continuing Education classes that meet the requirements set forth by the Arizona State Board for Massage Therapy for Continuing Education requirements for licensed massage therapists. The classes are also recognized by the National Certification Board for Massage and Bodywork as approved Category A C.E.U.'s.We are not your average Arizona massage school.
We are committed to teaching people to touch lives, heal bodies and free souls.
* The Touch Research Institute has conducted over 100 studies on the positive effects of massage therapy on many functions and medical conditions. For more information on how massage can positively effect a wide ranges of conditions go to Massage Therapy Studies
